Jessica Nicole Rogers

As an artist I find satisfaction and inspiration in the connective cycle of deconstructing and reconstructing, in which to create and narrate something beautiful and personally significant from old and used materials. I think painting is more like the real world if it’s made out of the real world. I am particularly attracted to the disregarded elements in life that for the most part are taken for granted, tossed aside so successfully that no one sees them or understands them anymore. There is an honest narrative, a history to be told, in the disregarded objects of your environment. I seek to reveal this narrative and recollect its history through the repetitive process of retrieving, researching, and reconstructing.
